Update: This kid is so very smart and well behaved! He is buddies with two of our larger pit bull types and they spend tons of time running, playing and wrestling. He is sweet with the smaller dogs. Would not do well with a confrontational housemate or to be housed with cats. We have not had him on a leash since the day he was injured as we have a large fenced area. He uses a dog door to go out to the yard and has never made a mess inside. He is bad about taking your hand in his mouth and can get excited enough to pinch sometimes we are working on that. He sits for his dinner and is a big cuddle bug. Update: Bullet is an AWESOME little dog! VERY smart and so well behaved. He rooms with two large pit bulls and spends a lot of time running, playing and wrestling. He is sweet with the smaller dogs, but he can retaliate if pushed. I do think he would go after a cat as he goes wild when he sees them through the fence. I have never had him on a leash since the day he was injured as we have a large fenced area. He sits for his dinner and is a big cuddle bug. ************** Foster mom cannot say enough about how sharp Bullet is and that he is a great communicator. She swear she totally understands English.' She believes he could be trained to do just about anything. He just seems to be able to listen and understand when you talk to him. He is such a good guy, he loves playing with any dog that will play with him. ***************************** Bullet is doing FANTASTIC in foster care! His best buddy in foster care is a Doxie! This dog is just sweet as can be........he will make a great addition to a home with other dogs! ******************************* Maybe cowardly, maybe thoughtfully, maybe just cheaply...........when these guardians realized that their dog had come home shot, they called the dog catcher and asked he come finish him off. When he got there the dog was laid out and he thought it was dead!! Surprisingly, the dog raised up his head then struggled to his feet.......inspired by this critter's fight for life, the officer made a call.......our volunteers were at the ready but unable to find a vet office that was open and willing.........so, skilled fostering saved another life........our dedicated foster mom managed to stop the bleeding, stabilized and comforted only to discover, this poor animal was pee'ing blood!!! Alarming to say the least........with white gums, bloody urine, a gaping gun shot wound.....hope was shakey that this magnificent beast would survive the night! Whether it was the nurturing angel who sat with the dog till a vet could be found or just luck.........this boy was still alive the next morning, but very much white and weak. After some quick diagnostics.......the bullet was found, lodged in the abdomen. But for skilled foster care and an amazing vet who always provides the medical care our lost souls so desperately need, this youngster fought for life and won! Such a darling baby, maybe born May, xxxx. Foster mom says he is 'sooooooo sweet' and 'a lovely dog'! and is now thriving and healing and getting stronger everyday!! Now, to find a loving future...... Update:: Bullet is just the sweetest little guy! The vet said he is about 8 months old, and he weighs appx 38 lbs. He is a open, friendly, outgoing boy. He gets along great with other dogs, loves to have good romp and tumble with anyone who will play with him. He is smart, listens really well and learns what you expect of him very quickly. Bullet wants to please and is so happy to have attention. He is getting the idea of going outside for potty time and doing great. He will need a fenced yard!!! Especially since that adventurous heart already got him shot once!!~~~~~~~~~
